DAY 21 - a recipe

I love Jamie Oliver, seriously if a man can cook good food, i'm theres. I also love chocolate, chocolate brownies was the way forward for this one.

Ingredients
• 250g unsalted butter
• 200g dark Fairtrade chocolate (70% cocoa solids), broken up
• optional: 75g dried sour cherries
• optional: 50g chopped nuts
• 80g cocoa powder, sifted
• 65g plain flour, sifted
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 360g caster sugar
• 4 large free-range or organic eggs
• optional: zest of 1 orange
• optional: 250ml crème fraîche

"This great little recipe is taken from my Little Book Of Big Treats which I've put together exclusively for Comic Relief. All you have to do is bake a few of these and sell them to your friends, family, colleagues or schoolmates and you'll have raised an extra few quid for Comic Relief and their brilliant causes. What could be easier?"

Preheat your oven to 180°C/350°F/gas 4. Line a 25cm square baking tin with greaseproof paper. In a large bowl over some simmering water, melt the butter and the chocolate and mix until smooth. Add the cherries and nuts, if you’re using them, and stir together. In a separate bowl, mix together the cocoa powder, flour, baking powder and sugar, then add this to the chocolate, cherry and nut mixture. Stir together well. Beat the eggs and mix in until you have a silky consistency.

Pour your brownie mix into the baking tray, and place in the oven for around 25 minutes. You don’t want to overcook them so, unlike cakes, you don’t want a skewer to come out all clean. The brownies should be slightly springy on the outside but still gooey in the middle. Allow to cool in the tray, then carefully transfer to a large chopping board and cut into chunky squares. These make a fantastic dessert served with a dollop of crème fraîche mixed with some orange zest.

DAY 20- a hobby of mine

I have no hobby. I just like doing things. Silly little things...

Going for walks, walking the dog, taking photos, blogging, messing round on photoshop, tidying my room, clearing out my wardrobe, sorting my dvds, eating, drinking, dancing, meeting new people, going places, watching films, snuggling, kissing, reading, writing, imagining, dreaming, and writing lists, so it seems...

DAY 19- A TALENT OF MINE

I have no talent as such, i can't play any instrument, i can't sing, i can't dance, i can't act, i can't really do anything that i would class as talent. But what is talent? I can name a few things i'm good at if that counts? Maybe not, but it's better to be good at something than bad at something because it makes you feel better on the inside. This makes sense to me. Not so much to you i'm guessing.

So here's a few things i'm good at, or like to think i am.

I'm an excellent listener.
I'm a good talker, good with people of all ages as i have to be because of my job. That makes me sound like some amazing doctor or something, i'm not. I'm a sales assistant, but if i can't talk to the customers, it means i'm shit at my job, and i like to think i'm good at my job, meaning i'm a good talker. See, i'm rambling.
Taking a photograph. I like to think i've got an eye for photography. You might not, but i'm proud of some of my work so thats all that matters.
I'm good with meeting new people, it excites me rather than makes me feel nervous and uncomfortable. Even though i can't be myself. Lets be fair, if we were all ourselves round someone we had met for the first time, everyone would be freaked out, well, maybe that wouldn't be such a bad thing. It might even attract people to each other more. But yeah, i'm only myself around selected few, but i like to meet new people to see if they can be within that selected few. Many don't make it there.
Analysing film. I do it without realising. It annoys some people.
Making plans. I'm amazing at it. I currently have about 50 thousand plans swimming round in my head. Doing them is another story and would be something that would come on the "list of things i'm bad at" if i was to ever do one of them lists.

That will do. I'm pretty sure i have a hidden talent though. Maybe i should get out the house more...

:)

Everything is looking up. That holiday that i never thought would get booked is booked. I am flying to Bulgaria 2 weeks on Sunday and excited is a big understatment!! Pretty much can't wait to get away for a week and do nothing but drink, dance, and sleep in the sun! I have high hopes for the hotel too with such great reviews like this "hi, we have just arrived back from summer dreams, this is not for families with small children, their were groups of teenagers staying together, could not use pool because of bad language and drunkeness, also bulgarians holiday at this complex every year with armed body guards, you are told by them where you can and cant sit, also they get the music turned off at pool bar, tour operators and their reps are fully aware of this and should not be sending families their, god forbid if their competitors arrive and their is a shoot out, avoid"
:)
So yeah, few things i need to get sorted before though, a passport might be handy ! So thats a quick trip to Peterborough and 100 quid less spendo but i think i'll manage. I guess a passport is slightly more important than spending money.
I don't really have a lot to say, heres some photos i'm enjoying on this horrible muggy evening ...

ONE DAY I WILL GO HERE.

some reason i found myself looking at flats last night and there were so many that i would love more than anything. The annoying thing is, i could probably afford it if i got a full time job, it's just, theres no way i could save for any of the things i want to do if i'm renting a flat. Maybe one day when i'm back from seeing as much as i can i'll settle down into my own little place, and decorate it with fairy lights and posters. I imagine my first home to be something like these :- (sorry if i've blogged these photos before)

SO YEAH.
so basically i'm happy because i've got something to look forward too. As long as i've always got something to look forward too in life i'll be happy. Even if its shit things like, something on tele or watching a film or having bagels for breakfast. It's the little things. RULE #32. enjoy the little things.

Peaceeee :) x

Wednesday, 16 June 2010

Oh hello.

I'm pretty sure there are more productive things i could be doing than lying in bed writing this, but oh well. So i had work tonight, only a 5-8 but still, i didn't want to be there. Especially with the lovely weather i just wanted to be sitting outside enjoying it all. However, it was good to see Lynn again, and late nights usually fly by. I also need the hours too, even if it is only 3! The night did go fast, and for some reason we were really over staffed with 4 of us and a manager when usually theres only 2 of us and even then we're standing round finding little things that need doing. Julie was managing though, so therefore we found ourselves working up until 8 on the dot anyway. Had some chinese lady come and order 30 pairs of hunter wellies, and when i asked what they were for, she simply replied 'for partying in my country'. Oh right.. cool. It was still light when i got out, which was unexpected and i got the bus straight to Jackies. Pippa and Lucy were already there and we sat and discussed holidays. Turns out i need alot more than i though as i completely forgot that my stupid passport has expired. Damn. Thats another 100 quid on top of everything as i need it renewing as soon as possible! That also means a trip to Peterbourough?! As thats our nearest passport office. It's all alot of effort and money and i'm hoping that my rents don't mind me borrowing the money too much. If they do i can just bring up how they bought my brother a car and he paid them off week by week for about a year! At least i know it will be well worth it. I need a holiday so bad and need something to look forward too! As much as the money thing is getting me abit stressed theres always a way round it, and i'm sure everything will work out just fine!
Other than work and holiday planning not a lot has been kicking off, went out last night which was fun, me Jackie and Lucy managed to drink 3 bottles of wine between us. LOVELY. Not too drunk then, ended up texting Henry about 15 thousand times. I guess thats pretty standard though. Went Soarpoint, and was REFUSED ENTRY once again due to my out of date passport. Pissed me off so much as everyone was in there waiting for us. I swear they hate me! They didnt let me in on my birthday either! But anyway, after that little let down we went highcross then mosh. Blagged all 3 of us in for free too which was sweet. Danced alot, laughed alot, tried to stop Lucy from falling over alot and finally ended up in subway. Bed felt nice at 4 am.
Next week i've not really got a whole lot planned. Hoping tomorrow we get the holiday booked or at least know how much i'll be needing, and then i'm working at the weekend. Got Sunday off which is nice as its fathers day. I have no idea what my father would like, probably just get him some sort of aftershave. Standard. Meant to be going out Saturday night also but i really don''t think i can afford it. I will now become a recluse until next month, but even then i'll be working hard to pay people off. Oh i just need to win the lottery bad! At least with summer coming up i can just chill out side drinking the wine that this household seems to gather. That sounds like my perfect evening if you ask me. Just need some nice company! Got quite a big thing happening Tuesday and i'm pretty excited/nervous. I want it alot but don't want to really jinx it so won't say no more until Tuesday evening about that !Other than that, i'm pretty much out of things to say. Oh yeah it's the lovely Josephs 18th today. If you're reading, which you're probably not, but anyway hope you had a lovely day and i hope you're drunk right now. I'll try and keep you updated as much as possible on the holiday. Like i said i'll hopefully know more tomorrow and will actually properly have something to get excited about. If the holiday fails i'm robbing schuh and running away forever. That will be all :) x

Day 17 - An art piece

Banksy is amazing, and yes that is a real elephant.
